Educational Qualifications

• University graduate, major in international trade or relevant discipline

• Engineering background would be an added advantage

Desired Profile

• Minimum 6 years of relevant experience in Steel trading/ specific scope of Geographic coverage is preferred

• Must be able to demonstrate strong business acumen, judgment & self-motivation to operate and grow in a dynamic business

• Fluent in English 

• Strong sourcing connection, moreover bringing an existing network of contacts

• Good technical knowledge of various Steel products

• Good working experience and knowledge of INCO TERMS 2010, UCP 600, contract exposure, marine freight (container and/ or bulk), etc.

• Have successful experience in creating and implementing sourcing strategy

• Team Player - ability to operate effectively in a multi-cultural team environment (across time zone, work locations etc.)

• Independent thinker to support growth aspirations of the Division/ Vertical

• Willing to travel for business

What you will do

Job Purpose

• To manage the sales of Steel to customers of assigned products in the assigned market and to explore the possibility of new value added opportunities in the assigned market

Key Responsibilities

• To develop and meet annual sales target into the assigned market, and develop selling tactics and strategies to ensure meet the planning processing of the agreed Annual Business Plan

• To develop customer and relevant third party relationships so as to maximize opportunities for sales and profit

• To maintain a full and current understanding of our potential customers’ requirements, market activity, competitor activity, customer and supplier performance

• To immediately leverage & capitalize on existing relationships with importers and steel producers in the area

• To manage the customer order load to ensure delivery times are met, claims and customer queries and enquiries are handled efficiently

• To implement a credit policy which delivers customer satisfaction at the least risk to TIL

• Build effective network of insights sharing & connectivity within the Division/ Vertical

• To monitor the payment situation of the customers and take action as and when required to eliminate overdue amounts

• To maintain constant communication with the supplying mills on key aspects of the assigned market and our customers

• To constantly be aware of new revenue making opportunities whether it be new products, new customers, sourcing, or value added prospects
