Skills required
To succeed in the role and to grow as the team and the business grows, you will need to bring with you, not only a can-do attitude and the usual software skills and credentials but the following attributes.
• A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Information Technology or equivalent;
• Have at least 3 years of experience in web development with LAMP stack;
• Understand how to deliver software through a project management based approach;
• Good knowledge in Ajax, JavaScript, JQuery, Bootstrap, CSS and XML;
• Have experience with web API and web services, especially RESTful API;
• Conversant in database design (MySQL);
• Experience with at least one Version Control System (SVN, Git);
• Experience in YUI and CodeIgniter development will be viewed as an advantage;
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English;
• Good planning, problem-solving and communication skills are essential;
The role is ideal for a candidate wanting to move-up and take ownership in projects and own the software development cycle components.
What you will do
• Take technical ownership and be the leader in delivering software applications into the business for internal users;
• Be able to manage and deliver against the full software development lifecycle (SDLC) which includes user requirement analysis, designing and writing new software programs, testing and final deployment of the allocated projects;
• Work closely with other functional teams in different geographical regions to ensure successful delivery in-house projects on defined requirements;
• Take the technical lead as the single contact point on specific projects liaising with internal users to advise and have input into the successful delivery of the solution;
• Provide guidance and mentoring to allocated junior team members;
• Provide support and guidance to the business when technical expertise is required;
• Ensure on-going development practices for consistency, reliability, performance and continuity within the Company application development environment.
